Room 13 and 22 have taken on the challenge of baking gingerbread horses to sell, in order to raise money for Riding for the Disabled (RDA).
We have three students in our school who benefit from the wonderful service that RDA offers, and appreciate the time and effort that all of the volunteers at Totara Park put into working with Dom, Ben and Levi.
Over the next three days we will be baking and icing gingerbread horses with the help of parents who have volunteered to assist us. Thank you parents! (And Mr Vernon.)
If all goes to plan, we will be selling these cookies on Thursday afternoon (at the end of the day). They will be $2 each, so bring along your spare change and help us support RDA.
Today, we were lucky enough to have Mrs Stolten visit us. Mrs Stolten not only volunteers at RDA and is one of Bens assistants, but her children also went t our school, so she has a long history with us at Our Lady Star of the Sea!
It was a great visit, and we learnt a lot about why RDA exists, what they do there, and how we can help.

That was a lot of information to take in!

That was so inspiring that people volunteer to help people in need.
Those people are amazing.
Giving up their time and working for free.
