Today (Tuesday) we were lucky enough to have author David Elliot join us to talk about being an author and what writing your own books entails.
David spoke to us about gathering up thoughts and ideas and storing them in journals. He also encouraged us to investigate into things that we find interesting just in case a story emerges from something we discover. David inspired us by reading his book ‘Pigtails the Pirate’ and together we read his book ‘Oink’.
David is a well known picture book author who has written many books.
We were lucky enough to get our visit through the organisation, Storylines, and we thank Mrs Webb for putting us forward as a recipient school.
We learnt a lot from David’s visit and many of us are now inspired to write our own narratives based on images from our imagination and our own discoveries.
