On Friday 7th of April, everyone gathered in the hall for the first house assembly of the year. It was lead by Maher house. All of the students were brightly dressed in their different, mufti outfits and were sorted in their own houses creating the effect of a rainbow. It was spectacular!

Everyone participated in a quick prayer led by Maher House. Certificates were then given out including the Value Certificates and the Rainbow’s End awards. After that had finished, the fun had begun. We watched as our model showed us our school’s Wearable Arts masterpiece, “The Compost Queen”. Then the crowds cheered as the house captains took their Maher House Models away to be dressed in different material while the Chinese and Pasifika dance groups performed. Finally, when the house captains had finished their design, the wearable arts team judged their favourite outfit while the house captains proudly showed off their model on the catwalk. It was a close match. All the designs were equally as fashionable, but there could only one winner! Congratulations went to Garin house for for their Maori Warrior design.  Finally, the assembly was over. The audience applauded loudly as everyone went back to their classes.
