We could hear the crowds cheering us on as we walked on stage. It was the day of the Koanga Festival at Bucklands Beach Intermediate. We opened our performance up with Mo Maria and Hareruia. The crowd was hyped up and eager to see some more. We sang a medley of songs representing the different iwi from the North Island. The girls did the poi and the boys did a fierce haka to intimidate the audience. Once our performance had finished we presented Bucklands Beach Intermediate with a Koha from our school and answered some questions. The theme was Kotahitanga which means unity and it was great to see all the schools coming together as one. We enjoyed working with the other students as a family, singing songs and having fun.
