Orienteering – Week 5 – Botany College
On Tuesday, the 19th of March, the fabulous Orienteering Day sprouted to life. I saw crowds of people about to start Orienteering. Some were very tall, others were my height. When it was my turn, I gulped and took a deep breath and ran to get a map. I studied the map carefully. I looked at where to go first, when suddenly my friend Emily popped out in front of me. We ran in every direction we needed to go to. After going through several stations, we were nearly at the finish. My legs were aching and my heart was racing fast. In the distance, we spotted a bright red sign that read FINISH. We ran together and every step I took, I knew I was getting closer and closer. We had to run through fields to get there. As I ran across the field, the wetness seeped into my shoes. My feet were soggy and wet. It bothered me but I continued to run on. Luckily, the burning hot concrete dried it up slightly. I ran through to the finish and I have done it in 22 minutes! After that, I munched on some crackers which Aaron’s mom brought, while tears of sweat came dribbling down. I really hope we can get the iced Juicies which Noah’s mom brought the last time. I could not wait for the next Orienteering.
