On Thursday the 25th of May, 19 of our student leaders were lucky enough to attend National Young Leaders Day held at the Vodafone Events Centre. Our 19 students were part of a group of over 2,500 students from schools in the Auckland region coming together to learn about what it takes to be a leader. The theme was “I am a seed of greatness” and this was explained during the day by various guest speakers.
Main points covered throughout the day included…
- Stand up for what you believe in
- Surround yourself with positive people
- Make your parents proud
- Never give up on what you believe to be true
- Keep asking until someone listens
- Everyone is capable of greatness – you just have to want it
- It is your words and actions that you are noticed for
- If you are passionate about something strive to achieve it
We had a fabulous day and the highlight was a live performance by Nomad, a young pop group,
of which we all got autographs from.
