Dear Families
Lockdown Level 3
Many thanks for your ongoing support of emergency school led learning from home. Next week is our last week of Term 3 as we continue at Alert Level 3. There will be no school led learning during the two week holiday break.
As you know, at Alert Level 3, school is closed except for those essential workers who have no other choice but to send their children to school. Please be in touch directly with me on [email protected]. nz if you require support in this way with at least 24 hours notice so we can do our best to accommodate needs.
We anticipate that alert levels will continue to drop over the school holidays which begin on Monday 4th October, and we hope that by the time we are due to start school again in Term 4 on Monday 18th October, we will be able to welcome all students back at Alert Level 2. We will keep you posted as time and alert levels will dictate our status heading into Term 4.
Next week we are celebrating another cultural week in our calendar.
New Zealand Chinese Language Week is an initiative aimed at encouraging New Zealanders to discover Chinese language and culture. Through our online platforms there will be opportunities for children to take part in activities and to learn and discover more about Chinese language. Children will also be able to access our library dashboard which will be full of lots of fun Chinese stories, activities, books, art & craft, articles, videos. https://nz.accessit.online/ OLS00/#!dashboard
More information about nationwide activities can be found here. https://www.nzclw.com/
Catholic Schools Day – Wednesday 29 September
Catholic Schools Day is celebrated every three years. It is the time we celebrate the taonga of Catholic Education in Aotearoa New Zealand. As the day falls while we are in Lockdown Level 3 we have made changes to the way we will celebrate. Every class along with groups across our school community are in the process of writing prayers that reflect what is happening globally, nationally and locally at the moment. A prayer capsule housing these prayers will be buried in the Sabbath Space, to be opened at a Catholic Schools day in the future.
