• Emergency School Led Learning from Home and Alert Level Change Preparations
Once again we thank all of our community for their active support of the emergency school led learning from home programme which our teachers are providing.
We will hear on Monday afternoon whether Auckland is due to move down alert levels next week.
If we are notified by the Prime Minister on Monday that Auckland is shifting lockdown levels, I will send an email on Monday afternoon requesting families to be in touch with me directly at lcampbell@starofthesea.school.nz if you are an essential worker who requires supervision in a school bubble once we reach Level 3. Thank you in advance for prioritising your response to this should we find out we are moving lockdown levels as this will assist us in our planning.

If you already know that once we reach Level 3, as an essential worker who has no alternative but to send your child to school to engage in emergency school led learning from school, please feel free to make contact with me now on the above email address directly.

mau, Haere mai ki Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori 2021
Welcome everyone to Maori Language week 2021
This year the focus has been ‘Kia kaha te reo!’ Let us give strength to the language!
Across the week, all classes have been given learning opportunities to strengthen our reo by giving it a try, or by challenging ourselves with new kupu (words) to add to our everyday vocabulary. Thank you to Mrs Bell who has created another wonderful dashboard on the Information Centre portal. Simply head to our school website, scroll down and click on the Information Centre button. Have fun exploring the many activities posted there.
No reira, tena koutou katoa.
Mauri Ora!

Lockdown and Challenging Behaviours! Free Community Webinar for Parents. Tickets, Thu 23/09/2021 at 7:00 pm | Eventbrite  (check the time: 9pm NZ)

“Speech in Focus, Speech Pathology Services in partnership with Psychology In Sight will be giving back to the community by presenting a free community webinar for parents and carers of children.

Join us for an evening for an honest and warm conversation about challenging behaviours in children during this pandemic. We know that being a parent during Lockdown is tough and raising kids who might be experiencing mental health difficulties is even tougher.

Evett and Christine have brought their skills in communication and mental health together to help answer parents’ common troubling questions

  • “What is going on with my child?”
  • “What do I say to my child?”
  • “How do I get them to talk about their feelings?”
  • “What can I do, I am not a therapist?”

We will guide you through key ways to look for signs if your child needs help, and learn how to understand the hidden meaning behind your kids’ behaviours. We will share with you valuable advice about what to say and do to help them get through the pandemic.”
