After weeks of training in both term 2 and term 3, our students were excited to be able to test themselves against each other in race conditions.  School and House spirit was channelled with colour and enthusiastic cheering.  Many prayers were said for a fine morning as the weather forecasters tried to dampen our enthusiasm.  Wednesday dawned and staff and senior students set about organising our spaces for the best possible view of the action and potential for supporting our athletes.  The parent community came out in force to support not only their own children, but also everyone who ran the course, right to the very last competitor in each race.  We are very proud of all of our students, they participated to the best of their abilities.  Our youngest boys showed great courage and resilience as just after their race started they encountered a passing hail storm.  The boys carried on to finish their race before being whisked away to get dry and warm.  5 minutes later the sun shone again and the senior students carried on with their races.  Well done to everyone!  Good Luck to those who will continue on to represent Our Lady Star of the Sea School at the Eastern Zone and Catholic Schools Cross Country events.
