For last year’s genius hour we did knitting for Kids First.

It was a great experience for everyone to enjoy and chat while knitting. Parents and teachers came and taught us how to knit and we improved each session.

We went every Friday afternoon and started after lunch to home time. We made squares and Mrs Penney made them into two soft, cosy blankets which are very colourful and warm for newborn babies. Mrs Penney knitted the borders for the blankets, they look amazing.

We are very proud of our work and felt happy inside our hearts. The blankets are for parents who don’t have blankets for their babies in Kids First at Middlemore hospital. It was a  nice time to chat with friends from other classrooms. It was a very fun and new experience. We are all really happy of our final product.
