SCHOOL FEES
These are organised per annum. We would prefer them paid as a DIRECT DEBIT or AUTOMATIC PAYMENT. Where necessary, we will invoice you at the end of each term for payment in the first week of the following term. The total fee is made up of…
ATTENDANCE DUES: $92.50 per child per term ($370 per annum). This money is directed to Wellington for the Catholic Integrated Schools to repay Government loans used nationally to upgrade amenities and for new buildings required for Catholic School sites. This fee is a requirement of the Integration Act 1975.
The SPECIAL CHARACTER comprises $40 per annum and is collected by the school for the support of the Auckland Catholic Schools Office inclusive of the Religious Education Advisors. This is TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
GENERAL PURPOSE: This is also TAX DEDUCTIBLE and supplements a variety of areas. Funds are utilised by the school in its day to day costs for school and classroom capital items, ancillary staffing, buildings, bus transport for celebrations in our local church, annual school magazine, in part or total cost. Pursuant to the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975 and the Integration Agreement signed between the Proprietor and the Minister of Education, the Proprietor is responsible for paying capital works at our school. The Act and Agreement allow the Proprietor to solicit contributions for these capital works. The invoice you receive from the school each term includes a provision for this. This enables the Proprietor to fund buildings e.g. the hall completed in 2003 and the proposed Performing Arts Centre.

It is not our intention to prevent anyone from obtaining a Catholic Education. Where a family’ s financial circumstances change parents are encouraged to make application to the Parish Priest for dues to be reduced or payment deferred.

School Attendance Dues Sponsorship Scheme
The Attendance Dues Sponsorship Scheme – has been created to assist families who may need financial support with the payment of attendance dues, for students attending Catholic schools in Auckland Diocese, both primary and secondary.
The purpose of the sponsorship scheme is to allow parents or caregivers facing financial hardship another option to seek relief where they may be reluctant to approach their school for help. The existing financial hardship scheme - operated by your school - is also available to parents or caregivers facing hardship and we do encourage families facing financial difficulties to please contact your school office. Application forms are available from school and parish offices, or can be down-loaded from the Catholic Schools Office website www.catholic schools.org.nz (go to Property and Finance/Finance/Attendance Dues).
If you have any queries or require assistance with the payment of attendance dues under the sponsorship scheme, you are invited to phone in confidence - Carol Krebs (phone 360 3069) at the Auckland Diocese office. Applications to the sponsorship scheme for 2011 attendance dues will be accepted by the Auckland Common Fund Ltd up to December 2011.
CHEQUES
Cheques for materials, books, class trips, etc should be made out to Our Lady Star of the Sea School.
EFTPOS FACILITY
An EFTPOS facility is available for any payments to the school. No cash out will be given. Payments are also accepted on VISA and BANKCARD
